Fiat has updated its ever popular Punto Evo hatchback, reducing the name to just 'Punto' and adjusting the styling to give the car a more simple look with less design clutter. The result of this exterior tweak, though, is that the new Punto doesn't have as much of a visual impact on the road and may blend it too much, even though the facelifted design is neater. However, the daytime running lights, which come as standard., may compensate for this. As usual, buyers will face a choice of 3 or 5 doors, and there will be five different trim levels on offer from launch: Pop, Easy, GBT (which marks the Italian manufacturer's role with the Team GB cycling team), TwinAir and Lounge. As for the engines, there will be a range consisting of five petrols and two diesels. Plus, the most frugal diesel model will release only 90g/km of CO2 and achieve an impressive 80.7mpg, so the environmentally conscious have a Punto tailored for them. Prices for the new Punto will range from £9,990 to £15,600 depending on which trim level you opt for and how generous you are with adding extra equipment.
