the bottom of the front lights. The grille also appears more wide and prominent in the new car, giving the Mercedes S Class a more imposing stance. As for the rear, even less can be assumed. However, the styling does suggest a more smooth and sport shape, similar to the CL Class. Plus, this time round the saloon won't be the end of the S Class range. Along with the usual long wheel base option, there will also be a massive coupé option which will replace the current CL Class in the Mercedes range, with the design being heavily influenced by the saloon car. Furthermore, for the first time, there will be a cabriolet edition as well. Mercedes first indicated that a drop-top was on the cards back in 2006 when the German manufacturer previewed the S Class Ocean Drive concept car at the Detroit Motor Show. We should see these 2-door models arriving in showrooms by 2014. So, will its German counter parts, Audi and BMW, follow suit with the A7 and 7 Series? We hope so! Since Mercedes will by axing the poor-selling Maybach range, two super luxurious Pullman variants of the upcoming S Class will also be available soon after launch. The upcoming AMG version is expected to also be incredible. In other Mercedes news, the CLS is set to receive a mid-cycle refresh in 2014, along with the upcoming CLS Shooting Brake, and the entire E Class range will receive a major update the following year, in 2015.
