Volvo has released images of a storming new concept: the S60 Polestar. And this one really is a bright spark in the line-up of the Swedish manufacturer - or will be if it makes it into production. Because, at the moment, Volvo is unfortunately undecided as to whether to issue the green light to the Polestar, with a key question being whether it will sell well. If it does make it to the showroom, it will go head to head with the saloon versions of the BMW M3 and the Mercedes C63 AMG, and that would be a tough battle. But the Volvo would be slightly cheaper, with an expected cost of £50,000. Plus, its no short on the figures: 501bhp, and a 0-60mph time of 3.9 seconds, which is pretty quick and beats anything we've seen from the company ever. However, if the Volvo enters production, a slightly watered down version would be the only one on offer.
