Honda has added an extra model to its popular Jazz line-up: a 1.3 litre 'idle stop' version. From its name, you can guess the key new feature: stop-start technology, which cuts the engine when the car comes to rest, like at traffic lights, and the quickly restarts it at the tap of the accelerator. This has cut CO2 emissions from the Japanese car by 3g/km. This might no sound like much, but it's enough to push the car into a cheaper tax bracket: Band C, where the annual charge is just £30.
