The renowned AMG variants of some of the cars in the Mercedes line-up currently accounts for 20,000 sales per year. However, that's set to change. Mercedes have unveiled a teaser shot, pictured left, which boasts all the current AMG cars, but includes 8 models with a cover on the top. They hope that the release of these currently mysterious models will help boost AMG sales by an extra 10,000, that's a 50% increase, to 30,000 per year by the time AMG have their 50th anniversary in 2017. So what are these mysterious models? Well, we are officially expecting the A45 AMG, which has officially been anounced by Mercedes. That leaves 7. There's also the highly anticipated SLC AMG, which was caught testing heavily disguised recently, and an AMG version of the upcoming
CLS Shooting Brake. That leaves 5. There's rumoured to be a small, Audi A5 sportback rivalling CLC arriving, so expect an AMG version of that. That leaves 4. There's also beliefs that the S Class range will expand to incorporate a convertible and an estate, as well as the incarnation of a small, BMW X3 rivalling, SUV, all of which could get AMG treatment. That leaves just 1. What will it be?
